About Yungas Cloud Forest

A steep band of cloud forest on the eastern Andes and among the most biodiverse forests in South America. Epiphytes, orchids and tree ferns crowd every branch. The spectacled bear, the only bear on the continent, survives here near its southern limit. The infamous Death Road from La Paz descends through the mist, while coca fields and new roads push farming ever higher up the slopes.
