About ForestDB

Comprehensive forest database with 115 entries covering area, type, key species, and ecological importance.

Entries range from the Amazon and the Congo Basin to boreal taiga, temperate rainforests, cloud forests, mangroves, and small protected ancient woods. Each page lists the country or countries, the approximate area, the forest type, notable tree and animal species, and a short profile of why the forest matters.

Start from the home page or use the search box to find a forest by name, country, type, or species. Areas are approximate and depend on how each forest is bounded.
