A subtropical island forest. Some cedar trees are 1,000-2,000 years old. Receives 4,000-10,000 mm of rain per year. Inspired the forest setting in Princess Mononoke. A UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Jomon Sugi tree may be 7,000 years old.
