About Sikhote-Alin Forest
A UNESCO World Heritage mountain range where northern taiga species meet subtropical ones far north of their normal range. Around 500 Amur tigers, the largest cat on Earth, roam these woods. In 1947 a giant meteorite fell and flattened trees across the reserve. Yew, stone pine and wild vines share one forest, and ginseng collectors still probe the wilderness.
