About Nyungwe Forest
One of the oldest and best preserved montane rainforests in Africa. Thirteen primate species live here, including hundreds of chimpanzees, and troops of Ruwenzori colobus up to 300 strong move through the canopy. A long canopy walkway hangs about 50 m above the forest floor. The Rukarara River in the south is counted as the most distant source of the Nile.
